Hi! We’re Nate & Alicia. The snowbirds behind Snowbirds Design.

In Alicia’s words:
Like many, Covid was the catalyst for a major change. I decided the full time corporate life is for the birds (pun intended) and prioritized travel and scuba diving. I have loved scuba diving for over 20 years and travel for even longer, but it look Nate a bit to warm up to the idea. Finally, 13 years after his first Discover Scuba course, I managed to get Nate into the Salish Sea and his love for the underwater world took off!

It’s been incredible to be able to combine our love for the underwater world with our passion for design and photography to bring you the prints and products (coming soon!) on this website.

From Nate:
I’ve always been a lover of photography, starting with shooting film on disposables and a Nikon before the digital revolution, and picking up a Canon DSLR when I could finally afford it. And after my second Discover Scuba Diving experience, I was finally ready to fully jump in.

Once I started shooting underwater, it rekindled my interest in terrestrial photography as well. I picked up an old compact mirrorless, and it’s been my ideal travel companion (along with Alicia, of course.) It’s my goal to capture the feeling of a place, and show a moment in a story that I’m lucky enough to witness.
